Why are the disc-type scaffolds commonly used in engineering construction now

First, why should the fastener-type scaffolds be eliminated?
“Non-standard steel pipes” are popular, and the wall thickness of steel pipes generally does not meet the standard. The specification requires the wall thickness of steel pipes to be 3.5±0.5mm. The steel pipes marked as 3mm thick on the market are often only 2.5mm. Technical experiments show that for every 0.5mm reduction in wall thickness, the bearing capacity decreases by 15% to 30%; “Three-no fasteners” are flooding the market. Statistics show that most fasteners on the market are three-no products. As the industry’s irregular low-price competition intensifies, manufacturers cut corners or reduce quality to seek profits, resulting in more and more inferior fasteners. The overall stability of the fastener-type scaffolding structure is poor. The pole spacing is affected by the on-site construction and is difficult to meet the design requirements. The lateral stiffness of the inclined support is affected by the fastener connection strength, resulting in insufficient overall stability. The fastener tightening quality is greatly affected by human factors. If the torque force is insufficient, the anti-slip bearing capacity will be reduced, and the node strength and stiffness will be insufficient; if the torque force is too large, it will cause local buckling of the steel pipe, and it is easy to cause local instability and other safety hazards under load. The turnover loss rate of fastener-type scaffolding materials is high. On the one hand, the anti-rust treatment effect of steel pipes and fasteners is poor, and it is easy to rust and weaken the wall thickness, resulting in reduced bearing capacity; on the other hand, the maintenance of fasteners is poor, it is easy to rust and deform, and the bolt thread fails, resulting in reduced anti-slip bearing capacity and tightening torque value.

Second, why should we promote the disc-type scaffolding?

In addition, it is equipped with standardized accessories such as hook-type steel pedals standardized ladders, and modular assembly, which improves safety while also improving construction efficiency. The disc-type scaffolding adopts a hot-dip galvanizing process for anti-corrosion treatment, which is not easy to lose paint and rust. It not only improves the service life, but also has a clean and tidy overall silver appearance, which enhances the image of civilized construction; the rods are standardized in design, with fixed modulus, spacing, and step, and there are no messy fasteners, nuts, and other accessories, which are truly horizontal and vertical, and the overall image is atmospheric and beautiful. The pedals, ladders, and other accessories are also standardized modules, which are consistent as a whole, highlighting the image of civilized construction.

Third, how to manage the construction of disc-type scaffolding? The disc-type scaffolding should be accepted by the relevant specifications. The rod body has clear manufacturer and product stamped logos, and the product certificate, quality certificate, instruction manual type inspection report, and other quality certification documents should be checked; strictly implement the witnessed sampling and inspection. The construction unit shall take samples and send them to the inspection agency entrusted by the construction unit under the witness of the construction unit or the supervision unit to test the connection plate strength, the compressive strength of the adjustable support and the base, the steel pipe size deviation and mechanical properties and other indicators. The construction personnel of the disc-type scaffolding shall hold the qualification certificate of special operation personnel before taking up their posts. The certificate shall be obtained by the construction administrative department after passing the assessment. They shall participate in safety education and training or continuing education on schedule and strictly follow the standards and operating procedures. The construction unit shall implement the main responsibility for production safety, strengthen the technical training and technical disclosure of the operators, and ensure the skill level of each link of the construction. Before the construction of the disc-type scaffolding, a special construction plan shall be prepared. The plan shall be designed and calculated by professional and technical personnel based on the actual measured data on-site. If it involves dangerous and major projects, it shall also be demonstrated by the implementation plan of the dangerous and major project management regulations. The construction process shall strictly implement the special construction plan and relevant technical standards. The construction unit shall conduct self-inspection during the erection process and before use. The supervision unit shall inspect and accept according to the regulations. If it is unqualified, it shall be rectified in time. If it is not rectified in place, it shall not enter the next process.

To further improve the inherent safety level of construction, it is necessary to strictly implement the acceptance of components entering the site, strengthen construction safety management, and build a complete disc-type safety system.
