In the early 1980s, China successively introduced door-type scaffolding, bowl-buckle scaffolding and other types of scaffolding from abroad. Portal scaffolding has also been widely used in many domestic projects, and has achieved good results. Due to the product quality problems of portal scaffolding, this scaffolding has not been widely promoted and applied. A number of gate-type scaffolding factories have been built in China, and most of their products are processed according to plans from foreign investors. Bowl-buckle scaffolding is the most widely used scaffolding in the new type of scaffolding, but it is only used in some regions and projects.
Since the 1990s, some domestic enterprises have introduced advanced foreign technologies and developed a variety of new scaffolding, such as bolt scaffolding, CRAB module scaffolding, disc scaffolding, square tower scaffolding, and various types of climbing frames. By 2013, there were more than 100 domestic professional scaffolding manufacturers, mainly in Wuxi, Guangzhou, Qingdao and other places. Technically speaking, China’s scaffolding companies already have the ability to process and produce a variety of new scaffolding. However, the domestic market has not yet formed, and construction companies have insufficient knowledge of the new scaffolding.
With the emergence of a large number of modern large-scale building systems in China, fastener-type steel tube scaffolding has been unable to meet the needs of the development of building construction. It is an urgent task to vigorously develop and promote the application of new scaffolding. Practice has proved that the use of new scaffolding is not only safe and reliable in construction, but also fast in assembly and dis-assembly. The efficiency of assembly and dis-assembly has increased by more than two times. Different types of construction use different scaffolds for different purposes. Most of the bridge support frames use scaffolding with bowl buckle, and some use portal scaffolding. Most of the main structure construction floor scaffolding uses fastener scaffolding.
