Safety control points for hanging basket scaffolding

1. The erection structure of the hanging basket must comply with the special safety construction organization design (construction plan) regulations. When assembling or dismantling, three people should cooperate with the operation and strictly follow the erection procedures. No one is allowed to change the plan.

2. The load of the hanging basket shall not exceed 1176N/m2 (120kg/m2). The workers and materials on the hanging basket must be distributed symmetrically and shall not be concentrated at one end to maintain a balanced load on the hanging basket.

3. The lever hoist for lifting the hanging basket should use a special matching wire rope of more than 3t. If the inverted chain is used for applications above 2t, the diameter of the load-bearing wire rope shall not be less than 12.5mm. Safety ropes shall be installed at both ends of the hanging basket, the diameter of which is the same as the load-bearing wire rope. There should be no less than 3 rope clamps, and the use of jointed wire ropes is strictly prohibited.

4. The connection between the load-bearing steel wire rope and the cantilever beam must be firm, and protective measures should be taken to prevent the steel wire rope from being sheared.

5. The position of the hanging basket and the setting of the cantilever beams should be determined according to the actual conditions of the building. The length of the cantilever beam must be kept perpendicular to the hanging point of the hanging basket. When installing the cantilever beam, one end of the cantilever beam protruding out of the building should be slightly higher than the other end. The two ends of the cantilever beams inside and outside the building should be firmly connected with cedar beams or steel pipes to form a whole. For the overhanging beams on the balcony, diagonal braces and piles should be added at the top of the overhanging parts, pads should be added under the diagonal braces, and columns should be set up to reinforce the stressed balcony board and the two-layer balcony boards below.

6. The hanging basket can be assembled into a single-layer or double-layer hanging basket according to the needs of the project. The double-layer hanging basket must be equipped with a ladder and leave a movable cover to facilitate the entry and exit of personnel.

7. The length of the hanging basket should generally not exceed 8m, and the width should be 0.8m to 1m. The height of a single-layer hanging basket is 2m, and the height of a double-layer hanging basket is 3.8m. For hanging baskets with steel pipes as vertical poles, the distance between the poles shall not exceed 2.5m. A single-layer hanging basket shall be equipped with at least three horizontal bars, and a double-layer hanging basket shall be equipped with at least five horizontal bars.

8. For hanging baskets assembled with steel pipes, both large and small surfaces need to be girded. For hanging baskets assembled with welded prefabricated frames, the large surfaces with a length exceeding 3m must be girded.

9. The scaffolding board of the hanging basket must be paved flat and tightly, and firmly fixed with the horizontal horizontal rods. The spacing of the horizontal rods can be determined according to the thickness of the scaffolding board, generally 0.5 to 1m is appropriate. Two guard rails should be installed on the outer row and both ends of the hanging basket working layer, and a dense mesh safety net should be hung to seal it tightly.

10. For a hanging basket using a lever hoist as a lifting device, after the wire rope is threaded, the safety plate handle must be removed, the safety rope or safety lock must be fastened, and the hanging basket must be firmly connected to the building.

11. The inner side of the hanging basket should be 100mm away from the building, and the distance between the two hanging baskets should not be greater than 200mm. It is not allowed to connect two or more hanging baskets to raise and lower them at the same time. The joints of the two hanging baskets should be staggered with the windows and balcony working surfaces.

12. When lifting the hanging basket, all lever hoists must be shaken or the inverted chains must be pulled at the same time. All lifting points must be raised and lowered at the same time to maintain the balance of the hanging basket. When lifting the hanging basket, do not collide with the building, especially balconies, windows, and other parts. There should be a dedicated person responsible for pushing the hanging basket to prevent the hanging basket from hitting the building.

13. During the use of the hanging basket, the protection, insurance, lifting beams, lever hoists, reverse chains and slings, etc. of the hanging basket should be checked regularly. If any hidden dangers are found, resolve them immediately.

14. The assembly, lifting, dismantling, and maintenance of the hanging basket must be carried out by professional rack workers.
