Relevant construction details of portal scaffolding

A special safety construction plan should be prepared for the erection of portal scaffolding, and the structural design should be calculated reviewed, and approved by regulations. The specifications, performance, and quality of the portal frame and its accessories should comply with the provisions of the current industry standard “Portal Steel Pipe Scaffolding” (JGJ76) and should have a factory certificate of conformity and product logo.

First, the foundation of the frame
The foundation of the frame must be flat and solid, and drainage measures should be adopted. The position line of the portal frame uprights should be popped up on the foundation first, and the pad and base should be placed accurately. A fixed base or an adjustable base (with a diameter of not less than 35mm and a protruding length of not more than 200mm) should be set at the lower end of the upright of the bottom step portal frame.

Second, wall connecting parts
The scaffolding must be reliably connected to the building with wall connecting parts, and its standard bearing capacity value should not be less than 10KN. Wall connecting parts should be added at the corners of the scaffolding and both ends of the unclosed (straight-shaped, groove-shaped) scaffolding, and their vertical spacing should not be greater than 4m. In the part of the scaffolding that is subjected to eccentric load due to the installation of a protective shed or complete net (referring to cantilever horizontal safety net), additional wall connecting parts should be installed, and the vertical spacing should not be greater than 4m.

Third, scaffolding plank
The door-type scaffolding should use hook-type steel scaffolding plank, the hook of the scaffolding plank must be completely hooked on the horizontal rod, and the hook should be in a locked state.

Fourth, safety net
The outside of the frame should be closed with a dense safety net, and the connection between the nets should be tight. A horizontal safety net should be used under the scaffolding board of the working layer, and a horizontal safety net should be used every 10m below. (The method is the same as the ground-type steel pipe scaffolding)

Fifth, wire rope unloading
When the height of the arch-type steel pipe scaffolding exceeds 24m, or when cantilever beams or cantilever frames are used for cantilevering, it is advisable to use wire ropes at the outer ends of the horizontal rods or steel cantilever beams to be diagonally tied to the upper building structure, and the wire ropes shall not be used as load-bearing members of the cantilever support structure.
