How to use scaffolding safely

1. When erecting high-rise scaffolding, all materials used must meet quality requirements.

2. The foundation of high-rise scaffolding must be solid. It must be calculated before erection to meet the load requirements. It must be erected by construction specifications and drainage measures must be taken.

3. The technical requirements for scaffolding erection should comply with relevant specifications.

4. Attention must be paid to various structural measures: scissor braces, tie points, etc. should be set as required.

5. Horizontal sealing: Starting from the first step, every other step or two, scaffolding boards or scaffolding fences should be laid all over. The scaffolding boards should be laid along the length direction. The joints should be overlapped and placed on small crossbars. It is strictly forbidden to have empty boards. And lay a long safety bottom fence every four steps between the inner pole and the wall.

6. Vertical closure: From the second to the fifth step, at each step, a 1.00m-high protective railing and toe-stop or net must be set up on the inside of the outer row of poles, and the protective poles (nets) and poles should be fastened; In addition to the protective barriers above the fifth step, safety fences or safety nets should be installed on all sides; along the street or in densely populated areas, safety fences or safety nets should be installed on all outsides starting from the second step.

7. The scaffolding should be erected at least 1.5m higher than the top of the building or the operating surface and should be protected.

8. Steel pipes, fasteners, scaffolding boards, and connection points on the completed scaffolding must not be removed at will. When necessary during construction, it must be approved by the person in charge of the construction site and effective measures must be taken. After the process is completed, it must be resumed immediately.

9. Before use, the scaffolding should be inspected and accepted by the person in charge of the construction site. It can only be used after passing the inspection and filling in the inspection form. During the construction process, there should be professional management, inspection, and maintenance, and settlement observations should be carried out regularly. If any abnormalities are found, reinforcement measures should be taken promptly.

10. When dismantling the scaffolding, you should first check the connection with the building, and clear away the remaining materials and debris on the scaffolding. From top to bottom, proceed in the order of first installation, then disassembly, and then installation, first disassembly. Materials should be uniformly transferred downward or lifted to the ground and cleared one step at a time. The step-by-step disassembly method is not allowed, and it is strictly prohibited to throw downwards or push (pull) down to dismantle.

11. When erecting and dismantling scaffolding, a warning area should be set up and dedicated personnel should be assigned to guard. In case of strong winds above level 6 and severe weather, scaffolding erection and dismantling work should be stopped.

12. Regarding the requirements for the foundation, if the foundation is uneven, please use the base feet to achieve balance. The foundation must be able to withstand the pressure of the scaffolding and work.

13. Workers must wear safety belts when constructing and working at heights. Please install safety nets around the work area to prevent heavy objects from falling and injuring others.

14. Scaffolding components and accessories are strictly prohibited from being seriously dropped or bumped during transportation and storage; they are strictly prohibited from being thrown from high places when overlapping, disassembling, and disassembling. When disassembling, they should be operated in sequence from top to bottom.

15. Pay attention to safety during use. It is strictly forbidden to play on the shelf to prevent accidents.

16. Work is important, but safety and life are even more important. Please remember the above.
