How to estimate the usage of scaffolding parts

At present, scaffolding is very popular in the scaffolding industry. Due to the promotion of macro policies, the scaffolding market is in short supply. However, many colleagues who are new to scaffolding, do not know much about the engineering usage of scaffolding.

First, building exterior wall frame
According to the conventional construction plan, the height of the double-row frame of the exterior wall is generally not more than 20 meters, and the longitudinal spacing is about 0.9 meters. Each layer of the double-row frame of the exterior wall needs to be laid with steel foot pedals and equipped with safety facilities such as double-layer guardrails, footboards, and diagonal bars to prevent scaffolding overturning accidents.

How to calculate the area of scaffolding usage? When we know the area of the building’s exterior wall, we can roughly calculate the required scaffolding usage. For example, assuming that the height of the exterior wall is 10 meters and the length is 8 meters, the area of the scaffolding is usually 10 meters times 8 meters, which is about 100 square meters. Based on this area calculation, the required scaffolding usage is approximately between 27 and 28 tons.

It should be noted that in the actual construction process, the length and height of the building’s exterior wall may vary, so there will be a certain standard error.

Second, built-in full-height frame
In actual construction, one or more layers of built-in full-height frames are usually set up at specific locations to serve as construction operation platforms. According to conventional standards, the structure of the built-in full-height frame is mainly 1.8 meters by 1.8 meters, and 1 to 2 channels are set up at the bottom. Unlike the external wall frame, the measurement unit of the built-in full-height frame is usually calculated in meters.

Therefore, when calculating the construction amount of scaffolding, you only need to know the cubic number of the erection area to roughly estimate the required scaffolding amount. Taking a conventional standard as an example, the amount of a full-height frame per cubic meter is about 23 to 25 kilograms, so the amount of a full-height frame of 100 square meters is about 23 to 25 tons. Through such an estimate, the amount of scaffolding required can be roughly calculated.

Third, formwork frame
The formwork frame is different from the full-height frame and the external wall frame. It does not require the erection of upper and lower channels and operation platforms during the construction process. Therefore, when calculating the number of buckles for the formwork frame, the feet for building the upper and lower passages and the operating platform are usually excluded according to the actual situation on site. According to conventional standards, it is assumed that the structure of the formwork frame is 900×900 or 1200X1200, and the parameters of 900*1200 are used for calculation. The amount of the formwork frame is about 17~19 kg/cubic meter. By understanding the cubic number of the formwork frame, the amount of scaffolding can be roughly estimated.

The above is the method for calculating the amount of scaffolding in construction. However, in the actual construction process, if you want to accurately calculate the specifications and quantity of various rod accessories, you also need to calculate them in combination with the actual construction plan drawings. Especially when encountering projects with special requirements, the above method may not be very practical and the error is relatively large. However, when understanding the initial needs of Party B in the early stage of the project, the above method for calculating the amount of scaffolding is still relatively practical.
